Most Americans probably assume this means Most Valuable Player. It doesn't.
Others assume we are being clever and think it means Most Valuable Politician. It doesn't.
It alludes to a passage in Sun Tzu's Bing Fa (Art of War) that "Victory in War Must Pay For Itself". We've shortened this down to "Make Victory Pay" which is the right aim and attitude of a leader whether it is in business or politics.
